Meet the authors...
Debby Coleman
Debby was raised in western Washington. Upon graduating from high school she attended college and began a career as a legal secretary. After a two-year engagement Debby married her high school sweetheart, turning 19 on their honeymoon. Debby quit her job several months after the birth of their first daughter and was a stay-at-home mom for 14 years. For the next five years, she worked as a substitute secretary for the local school district and she is currently a full-time secretary with a local high school. She is an accomplished photographer and together with Jason has owned and operated a scrapbook store.
Jason Coleman
Jason was born in Louisville, Kentucky, raised in Arizona, and moved to Washington while a sophomore in high school. He was raised by his mother, with his brother and two sisters. Jason went to work on a part-time basis for a major west-coast sporting goods company when he was 19 years old and has worked his way up the corporate ladder, where he is currently a District Supervisor in the greater Seattle-Tacoma vicinity. He has 25 years of retail sporting goods experience, 22 of which have been in various leadership roles.
Jason and Debby have both been active in the local church for the majority of their marriage, working in various ministries. They have worked with teens and children and led both youth and adult small group Bible studies. They have been active leaders in the Awana ministry for 21 years as well as serving on the Awana Ministry Team for the Pacific Northwest. Jason has previously served as an 'Elder-elect' and coordinated the Outreach Ministry in a local church. They both have a heart for missions and have been on several missions trips to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They have taught marriage workshops in Spokane and Seattle, WA and are available for speaking engagements, workshops, and conferences. Please e-mail the authors for additional information.
Jason and Debby have four children, three daughters and a son, ranging in age from twenty to thirteen. They are extremely involved in the lives of their children as the kids are active in sports, school activities, church youth groups, and much more. You can find their family vacationing in Cannon Beach, Oregon each August. They wrote a large portion of this manuscript while vacationing in Cannon Beach and the cover photo for their book features Jason and Debby on the sand in Cannon Beach, OR.
Jason and Debby Coleman celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in September of 2009 and currently reside in Federal Way, WA.
